Greater depth models
At Foley Park, we hold high expectations of all children's writing and regularly share with them what this could look like. We begin our writing units by sharing a high quality text and using our 'writing toolkit' to extract what makes that piece of writing so effective. We identify the purpose, audience, intended effects, skills and vocabulary of the piece and specifically discuss how the author has used different writing skills and vocabulary to achieve such a high standard.
