School Council Meeting to plan a Q&A with Councillor Kevin Gale
6th June 2025
Our School Councillors will be welcoming Cllr Kevin Gale into school on Monday, and they are very, very excited!
Some of our School Councillors met today to discuss what theywould like to ask Cllr Kevin Gale. They really thought hard about what they want from their local councillor, to help makeKidderminster a better place.
I was astonished by the questions and suggestions they have for him to improve their community. They included: lowering the cost of food, to help struggling families; increasing the number of food banks in their community, to make them more accessiblef or families; having park volunteers to make their local parks safer spaces for children and to improve Kidderminster Town, by turning empty shops into art centres for teenagers, so they don’t hang around on streets!
What a conscientious and empathetic group of young peoplewe have on our school council, I was bowledover by theirintegrity, their courage and their unity!
I can’t wait for him to meet them all! 🤩
Kidderminster Foodbank Autumn 2024

School Council Autumn Term Update
This term, the School Council has been working hard to inspire our school community to support a worthy cause: the Kidderminster Food Bank. Their efforts were nothing short of brilliant, resulting in an incredible amount of food donations. To deepen their understanding of the food bank’s vital role, the council participated in a workshop led by Nina from the local food bank. During the session, they explored the purpose of food banks and how they operate, gaining valuable insights into the importance of this community service. The highlight of their project was delivering the donations to the food bank, where they had the opportunity to weigh and sort the items. They also met some of the dedicated volunteers who make the food bank’s work possible. This experience helped them truly appreciate the power of community, a message they eagerly shared with the rest of the school.
A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to this incredible initiative!
UK Parliament Week Autumn 2024

During UK Parliament Week, the Foley Park School Council has been busy engaging with their peers and emphasising the importance of speaking up for what you believe is right. They have been discussing the vital need to stand up for the rights of others and ensuring everyone’s voice is heard—especially children, whose perspectives and ideas matter greatly.
The council has been inspiring their classmates to come together and think about how they can work collaboratively to make Foley Park the best school it can be. This reflects the school's commitment to helping everyone 'be the best they can be.'
The School Council received some brilliant suggestions from their peers during these discussions and are already looking forward to putting these ideas into action in the new year. Exciting times are ahead as they work together to create a positive and inclusive environment for all!
