As children progress through Foley Park Primary Academy, their religious education will equip them with the skills, knowledge and experience to be able to understand and connect to a range of religious and non-religious values, beliefs and practices. They will develop the confidence to discuss, question, debate, reflect on, compare and appreciate the belief systems of themselves and others, to be able to actively and respectfully participate in the diverse society in which we live.
Parents and carers have the right to withdraw their child from all or part of Religious Education. Guidance form the Department of Education states: You should inform the school in writing, and they are legally required to grant the request. While the school must supervise your child during this time, they are not required to provide additional teaching, and your child may be asked to work in another area of the school, such as the library.
